As a filmmaker, I try to capture moments and stories that touch both people's hearts and minds. I approach my work with a sense of curiosity, hoping to reflect the complexities of the world around us.
I care deeply about the challenges our society faces, and I believe that change is needed — not just in individual acts of kindness, but in addressing the larger systems that shape our lives. Engaging in small acts of kindness is important for ourselves and those around us, but we need to focus on a systematic approach to tackle the root causes of problems like social injustice and environmental damage - and for me the key in those big questions lies in developing our democracies.
Climate change is - in my opinion - our most urgent issue. I feel a responsibility to contribute, however I can, to the conversations and actions that might lead us to better solutions. As artists, we have the opportunity to raise questions, create space for dialogue, and perhaps inspire shifts, however subtle, in how we understand and engage with the world.
I’m still (and probably will always be) learning, questioning and trying to find ways to use my work to contribute to something larger than myself.
If we can use our talents to shed light on important issues, then maybe we’ve done justice to what we have to offer.
